These terms and conditions are to be read carefully before making any booking through www.whitestartravel.com.au. It is important that you and all members of your travelling party understand and agree with the following important terms and conditions as they may relate all or in part to the bookings held by Whitestar Travel on your behalf.
If you are making bookings on behalf of more than one traveller, please direct them to these terms and conditions.
Statement of Responsibility
When you click to make a booking with Whitestar Travel, legal obligations arise and your right to refund of monies charged to your credit card or paid in any other way agreed by us, are limited by our terms and policies and by the conditions of the particular supplier. You must not make any booking through this site unless you understand and agree to all our terms and policies. Once payment is made for the booking, it is deemed that you have read and understood the terms and conditions for the booking. Whitestar Travel is an agent for airline and wholesale travel companies and other suppliers providing services, including accommodation, travel insurance and transportation services. Whitestar Travel is not a provider of services and has no responsibility for services provided or not provided by any party. We give and make no warranty or representation regarding the standard of any service or product to be supplied and no person has authority to make any such representation or warranty on behalf of Whitestar Travel. All tickets, coupons, exchange orders, vouchers and receipts are issued subject to the appropriate tariffs and terms and conditions of sale of suppliers and these terms. Whitestar Travel is the issueing agent only. Whitestar Travel has no responsibility, and extends no guarantees for discontinued promotions, airfares or specific holiday products.
Whitestar Travel has no liability for any act, omission or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of airlines, car rental operators, ferry companies, hoteliers, tour operators or any other supplier. Whitestar Travel does not accept any liability for any loss or damage occasioned by the negligence, act or omission of any supplier or other third party. Whitestar Travel reserve the right to cancel or modify itineraries or bookings where circumstances require. In circumstances where liability of Whitestar Travel cannot be excluded, such liability is limited to the value of the purchased travel arrangements. Whitestar Travel reserves the right to decline any booking for any individual on any tour or other service.
Photographs and illustrations and other promotional material are for promotion purposes only. They do not represent any benefit that will be included in any arrangements made by you.
The services sold through Whitestar Travel are subject to availability and can be withdrawn without notice. Access to this site and any site normally linked to this site is not guaranteed and is subject to availability of communications links and access rights. Whitestar Travel reserves the right to deny password login on this site to any person or password holder.
You will have the option to complete a customer profile when joining Whitestar Travel. Please be aware that the profile applies to the password holder but will also extend to any other persons on the same booking. If other individuals travelling on your booking require different particulars, you will need to contact us. Please note that the Customer Profile does not guarantee that the matters selected in your profile will be available to you. We will endeavour to accommodate your requests but cannot guarantee availability. If you have any queries or if any matter specified is important to you, please contact us. Please also be aware that your profile current at the time of a booking will be used for booking details. This means that you must check that your profile is up to date before making a booking. If amendments are needed at any time, you must make the amendments before making a booking.
It is essential that supplied details of each traveller are correct as appears on their current passport. Some suppliers will deny carriage if the traveller’s name varies from the booking and may cancel automatically if the traveller’s name is amended. Whitestar Travel has no responsibility for any loss or damage arising from incorrect entry of tthe raveller’s name and therefore any inability to travel as a result of carrier’s policies.
Unlicensed Entity Disclaimer
If you request Whitestar Travel to arrange for the provision of products or services by a person or company which is not licensed in accordance with any applicable law, Whitestar Travel accepts no liability (whether in contract, for negligence or otherwise) for any loss or damage suffered by you or any third party as a result.
Special Conditions for Products
The terms displayed on this website apply generally to all the products and packages sold by Whitestar Travel. Some products also have special conditions applying to them. Airlines, hotels, wholesalers and other suppliers have various other terms and conditions relating to the purchase of these goods and services. Some of those terms will be displayed in the Rules applicable to a particular product, but not all. For example, suppliers often limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage, however we do not have those conditions to display. It is your responsibility to check those terms and conditions before making a booking through this website and its third party providers.
Air Fares Special Conditions
There are numerous rules and regulations affecting most advance purchase and other discounted air fares, which involve substantial cancellation or amendment fees, and in some instances there are no refunds whatsoever on cancelled holidays and or air tickets should you need to amend or cancel your travel plans. If you have any queries regarding these fees please do not hesitate to contact our office. You must read the Rules and check the conditions applicable to every airfare and ensure that you accept those Rules and conditions before you make a booking. If the Rules and conditions are not displayed you should contact our office. Once you confirm a booking and make payment you are bound by the Rules and conditions applicable to the relevant supplier.
Alterations to Tour Itineraries by Suppliers
In the event of material alterations by a supplier to a proposed tour booked by you, you may be given the option of cancelling the tour without penalty but this is not guaranteed. The right to cancel is subject to the conditions of the supplier. Your acceptance of any tickets, coupons, exchange orders, vouchers and receipts will be deemed acceptance of the above conditions and of any alterations made to your tour.
Frequent Flyer Customers
Please note if you are a frequent flyer member you should retain your air ticket and boarding pass as Whitestar Travel cannot be held responsible for obtaining copies of your air ticket at any future date.
Flight Timings, Departure Points, and Flight Numbers
The timings shown on your ticket are subject to reconfirmation on both OUTBOUND and INBOUND journeys. Please contact the applicable Airline at least 72 hours before departure. Whitestar Travel does not accept responsibility for amended flight timings or numbers.
Carry On Baggage at International Airports
To increase your safety, there are new rules for taking liquids, aerosols and gels on flights into and out of Australia. These rules are needed to protect you from the threat of liquid explosives. Please ensure you read the Security Guide detailing the new rules. For more information visit www.infrastructure.gov.au.
Travel documents will be issued for your travel and include airline tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers or any other document (whether in electronic form or otherwise) used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider. It is your responsibility to check through the documents upon receipt and prior to departure to check that all your documents are correct and in order. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including being non-refundable, non-date changeable and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. All travel documents are non-transferable. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport holder and some carriers will deny carriage if the name varies and the booking may be cancelled. Please ensure that you have received your travel documentation prior to departure.
All airlines require the production of Photo ID when checking in with an e-ticket. Your ID must match with the name of the passenger on the ticket.
Whilst we offer full assistance it is the responsibility of each traveler to ensure that they have full and correct documentation to undertake their journey. All individuals departing from Australia must be in possession of a valid passport. If your passport is due to expire within six months of your return arrival back in Australia then under normal circumstances you should obtain a new passport. Should you be travelling on anything other than an Australian Passport then it is your responsibility to bring this to our attention as you may require a visa or permit to re-enter Australia. Whitestar Travel will not be liable for any incorrect information given to us nor for any fees imposed by the airline or tour operator should documentation need to be reissued.
Australian passport holders require a visa to enter some countries prior to arrival. Please ensure you are fully informed of the requirements before you make a reservation as visas can take some time to obtain. Some countries allow for a “visa free” stay for tourism purposes. If you are travelling on business, this does not always apply. If you or a member of your travelling party has a criminal offence, entry may be denied. Some consulates charge visa fees and we reserve the right to charge a service fee to cover courier fees and the like should we obtain this documentation on your behalf. Issuance of a visa is not the responsibility of Whitestar Travel and we cannot be held responsible should you be unable to obtain the correct visa to undertake your journey. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditure incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the travellers’ sole responsibility. Vaccinations are strongly recommended for certain destinations. Please contact your local doctor who will advise you of these requirements. Please note that vaccinations may be recommended some period in advance of travelling.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of any health requirements for your travel destinations and to ensure that you carry all necessary vaccination documentation. We strongly recommend that all Whitestar Travel clients take out comprehensive travel insurance when making a booking. We recommend that insurance covers loss of deposit and other monies through cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money, medical expenses, personal accidents, additional expenses to cover hotel accommodation and repatriation costs to Australia should any services need to be extended or curtailed due to illness or other insurable risk. Please note that restrictions on the time to effect insurance apply to some services such as airfares. Please contact us to arrange travel insurance before making payment for a service. If you decline to take out travel insurance, in some circumstances Whitestar Travel will require you to sign an indemnity form.
Rates and Price Variations
We reserve the right to vary published rates in the event of changes in exchange rates or price rises made by wholesalers or other suppliers. If the cost of any service increases due to exchange rate fluctuations, price increases, tax changes or any other reason, you must pay the increase when notified. We are not liable in any way if any increase occurs. Rates quoted are per tour, per night accommodation, per crossing ferries, per package, as appropriate to the particular product. Car rental is based on a 24-hour period commencing from the time of pick-up throughout unless otherwise specified. All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice.
Transaction Currency, Pricing Policy (including Goods and Services Tax, GST)
All prices are quoted and processed in Australian dollars (AUD).
Prices quoted do not include goods and services tax or similar tax (“GST”) for international holidays.
If the holiday/service booked is domestic (within Australia or Australian waters), GST will be included in the pricing and therefore payable by you in respect of any supply made to you of domestic holiday product.

Price Inclusions and Exclusions
Items included in the prices or rates of the products are specified in each section. Prices do not include, meals other than as stated in itineraries, any air fares unless stated, Government departure taxes, passport and visa charges, vaccination fees, airport taxes, any items of a personal nature such as telephone calls, beverages, laundry, excess baggage charges and gratuities, travel insurance or other items not specified.
Ticketing and Cancellations/Reissue’s
For International departures most airlines issue e-tickets, which will be emailed to the email address provided when making an online or telephone booking. Some airlines require paper tickets. These will need to be posted to you at the address provided. If your tickets are paper tickets and you live outside of Australia then postage or airline ticketing fees will apply. For Australian Domestic itineraries, passengers will be provided with an e-ticket receipt upon payment and completion of the booking process.
It is the travellers’ responsibility to contact the airline prior to travel to ensure the scheduled departure time has not changed. Certain taxes are mandatory in various countries. There may also be an additional local tax charged at some airports. All taxes are subject to change without notice.
Cancellation fees will be applicable if you cancel your booking. These charges can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. If a refund from the supplier is possible we are unable to provide a refund to you until we receive any funds from the relevant supplier and this could take a number of weeks. We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of a minimum of $80 per person to cover our administration expenses. This fee is in addition to any charges made by Airlines, Hotels, Tour Operators and other suppliers. Please check the conditions of your fare or your holiday package with your Consultant. If you wish to cancel or amend any booking made you need to contact us in writing.
Travel Gift Cards – Terms and Conditions of Use
Whitestar Travel Gift Cards are redeemable as contribution towards the cost of a holiday break. Please treat the card as cash. Obviously if the card is defaced, mutilated, altered, lost or stolen the card will be only replaced or redeemed at the discretion of Whitestar Travel. The Whitestar Travel Gift Card is not redeemable for cash. The card must be redeemed before the expiry date shown on the card, and will be void and may not be redeemed after the expiry date. Quoting the serial number on the gift card to your travel agent over the phone when making a booking facilitates redemption. It is up to you to use the full value before expiry date and remember that gift cards expire 12 months from date of issue & cash will not be given for any unused balance. Unused balance on expiry of the card will not be refunded or credited. If purchase exceeds available card balance, the cardholder must make up difference with another payment method. The cardholder is liable for all transactions on the card. Whitestar Travel reserves the right to change any terms contained in these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time.
Flight Booking Changes /Amendments Service Fees
Airlines usually charge a fee for changing or amending a booking.
Additionally, a service fee from Whitestar Travel may apply in these circumstances. Whitestar Travel fees for changes/amendments:
Domestic booking – agency fee of $30 per passenger per booking
Trans Tasman bookings – agency fee of $30 per passenger per booking
International – agency fee of $50 plus airline fee if applicable

Charges for changes / amendments must be paid by credit card.
Credit Card Transactions
A surcharge will apply for credit card transactions.
