Los Angeles: The City of Angels

Posted on 20/04/2016 by Whitestar Travel

LA B&W

One of the world’s most well known cities has plenty more to offer than just celebrities and Hollywood.

As the Red Hot Chilli Peppers said about L.A, “take me to the place I love.” It’s a city known as much for its grunge and creativity as it is for its wealth and luxury. Depending on which direction you want to take, one thing is certain, you will become lost in the magic of Los Angeles.

Shopping is probably high on your agenda and the Beverly Center in Beverly Hills will cater to all your fashion needs. 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica has a more down to earth feel, or if you want to head out to Palm Springs you might be lucky and grab a great bargain at one of the outlet stores.

It’s closed until August 1 due to pipe works, but a hike up Runyon Canyon is always a great option. There you will get panoramic views over Hollywood and a good work out to boot!

Grab breakfast at Australian owned The Paramount Coffee Project. It has the locals abuzz and the ‘Chilaquiles de Pollo’ are a must try.

For the kids, or just the eternally young, Universal Studios Hollywood recently debuted the long-awaited ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’. Inspired by the JK Rowling’s series, the land is centred around Hogwarts castle and features the land’s signature ride ‘Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey’ and the family outdoor coaster ‘Flight of the Hippogriff’. Butter Beer anyone?

Stay at The Orlando Hotel, a gorgeous little family-owned hotel in one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

Fly there with American Airlines economy for $959 or business class $4,455.*
