Word on the Street: Fish Lane

Posted on 22/11/2018 by Whitestar Travel

Tucked away just south of the river, Brisbane’s Fish Lane is fast becoming a destination in itself.

Offering something for everyone, new restaurants, cafes and bars continue to pop up, creating a vibrant and thriving local scene.

Somewhat misnomered, Fish Lane is not a fish or seafood destination. Originally named Soda Water Lane, it was renamed in 1904 after a local Alderman. Chances are you’ll still get some great seafood options at one of many places to dine, however.

For pizza lovers, try Julius Pizza, for arguably Brisbane’s best, if not most authentic. Ice cream connoisseurs can set up at Messina. Fish Lane Bistro boasts a menu of fine dining, tapas and fancy cocktails. While Saccharomyces Beer Cafe provides local beer and wines on tap, with a great range of bar food and meals.
